Week 1 Part 3
Korb’s Triple E Framework
Engage
Technology should be integrated based on what we already know about good teaching and pedagogical practices (Kord, 2020). Educators know the importance of “I do, we do, you do” and this activity allows for the teacher to demonstrate, then let the students do it together, and monitor as the student completes the map on their own, while offering support and guidance. The activities in this lesson and activity allow the students to remain engaged and focused during each step of the lesson. The teacher will be available to direct and reteach as needed, as well as provide assistance to students who cannot complete the task on their own. Students will be given the chance to use their own creativity while they complete the map using the shape pieces on the slides presentation.
Enhance
Google maps is a technological tool to help students see the real world roads and buildings to help students make a real world connection with the community helpers lesson. The students will then use the knowledge they gained from google maps to create their own map. Google maps helps scaffold the learning by using pictures, labels, and real world images.
Extend
Google maps helps students make connections from life outside of school by using images that they may have seen while shopping, running errands, or simply driving down the road. These images on google maps help them see the importance of the community helpers in their town and where they are located within the town.

Great post! As a first-grade teacher, I am very used to the idea of "I do, we do, you do" activity in the classroom. I love the activity that you planned. My students have always enjoyed Google Maps in the classroom. I love this activity to enhance learning. Extending the lessons beyond the classroom makes students excited and I have noticed they really love to share this new knowledge with others when they feel that it is something that will use.
